​WHAT I DO

Rachael is a licensed clinical mental health counselor supervisor of 20 years and an award-winning author.   

In 2020, Lysa TerKeurst and the amazing team at Harper Collins Publishing chose her book out of over 10,000 submissions.

 

In 2012, Rachael fought the good fight to overcome postpartum depression in her own life when she became a new mom.   And she got better.  So, she spent the last decade writing the book she wished has been there for her.

 

So, her new book, A Mom is Born: Biblical Wisdom and Practical Advice for Taking Care of Yourself and Your New Baby,has just been published.   


A frequent speaker, radio, and podcast guest, Rachael has been featured on the Proverbs 31 Podcast for 4 episodes that has over 3 million downloads.  She also has been a guest on Real Talk with Rachel Awtrey that has over a million downloads.   

 

Rachael owns a thriving private practice in Charlotte, NC.  In her long career- she has helped thousands of women navigate through struggles to be the girl God has called her to be.

 

There’s nothing Rachael loves more than encouraging women to be emotionally healthy and to walk by faith, even when she cannot see.

 

Rachael is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHC-S) in North Carolina with 20 years of experience in the counseling field.

 

She is also a National Certified Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).  She is a clinically-trained Christian counselor. Rachael holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Family and Child Counseling from North Carolina State University. Prior to working in private practice, she has worked in the church, school, hospital, and community mental health settings. 

 

Rachael is passionate about repairing relationships, restoring healthy identity, and helping individuals in finding purpose in Christ. She utilizes creative therapy in counseling and desires to aid others in navigating through struggles to reach restoration, meaning, and hope.​
